  Shortlisted for 2014 RBC Award for Glass” - The Clay and Glass

Cheryl Wilson-Smith has been selected as a shortlisted candidate for the RBC Award for Glass.  Cheryl and the other finalist will attend the award ceremony at the Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery on Saturday, November 22, where they will each present a short artist talk and the winner will be announced.   Read more

GAAC’s Professional Project Grant

 Winner of the 2014 Glass Art Association of Canada’s Project Grants”  - 3D printing at the Solheim lab

Cheryl Wilson-Smith has been selected as the recipient of GAAC’s professional grant. She will be using the grant to cover a portion of the costs of her doing a residency as a visiting artist at the University of Washington and the Solheim Rapid Prototyping Lab.  Read more

“Cheryl Wilson-Smith – Finalist in the Emerge 2014″  - Bullseye Glass Co. biennial kiln-glass exhibition

Cheryl’s art, Winter’s Lichen, was chosen as one of 42 finalists (out of a field of 326) in EMERGE 2014, Bullseye’s eighth biennial kiln-glass exhibition for emerging artists. In addition, Cheryl won an Honorable Mention from Juror Kathleen Moles, and her piece is now in Bullseye’s Private Collection – for Dan Schwoerer, co-founder of Bullseye Glass, it was “love at first sight”. The Bellevue Arts Museum (BAM) has requested to host the final exhibition of EMERGE 2014 in the Spring of 2015 at the end of its national tour!
