Cheryl Wilson-Smith views the world through an artist's eye. She notices the beauty in every day things that surround her. Her artistic endeavours include her first love of oil painting and have led her to pottery and, most recently, glass-work. Cheryl believes that art should be touchable and expressive.
"Through the use of colour, form and texture in my art," says Cheryl, "I want to allow people to see the world a little differently."
Cheryl Wilson-Smith was born in Northern Ontario and has returned there after having lived and studied in such places as Iqualuit, all the way to Montana.
The vibrant colours of a child's face in the sun - the texture of seashells in the sand - the organic form of a deer hoof print - captured in clay, oils and glass, these become enduring works of art at the hands of Cheryl Wilson-Smith.
